Unlike other transducers, the speed and temp transducer has a hinge mount that prevents destruction when a foreign object is encountered. It mounts in minutes and has lots of cable. The speed is nice to have with the GPS in tidal waters to find out exactly what speed the boat is moving. Speed is critical when fishing for salmon.

This sounder is great - fairly easy to install and works well in most situations. In the flats with a lot of grass it would sometimes give inaccurate readings or fail to determine depth, but mostly worked great and better than other transducers I used in the past.
